BREVARD COUNTY, Florida. – A man who was arrested Tuesday night after being clocked driving over 100 mph on Interstate 95 in Brevard County said he was showing off for his girlfriend, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At approximately 7:36 p.m., soldiers said 19-year-old Angelo Donnelly was observed attempting to pass a vehicle in the left lane of northbound I-95 at Mile 186 in Melbourne, raising debris from the shoulder and almost colliding with the vehicle. he was going.

A trooper in charge of speed control in the median used a laser to determine that Donnelly was traveling at 112 mph, soon accelerating to 125 mph to overtake him further down the highway, according to an arrest report.
After Donnelly was taken into custody and placed in the back seat of the soldier, he said he was showing off for his girlfriend, who was allegedly following him in a separate vehicle, according to the report.
Donnelly was incarcerated in Brevard County Jail, where he has since retired, and faces a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving.
