Five arrested in connection with the shooting of a Lady Gaga dog walker

According to California police, five people have been arrested in connection with the shooting of Lady Gaga’s dog walker.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to NBC News that five people were arrested, four of whom are believed to be known gang members in Los Angeles. They were charged with attempted murder.

The pop star’s two French Bulldogs were discovered on a Los Angeles street in February; Gaga offered a half a million dollar reward for their return, and her dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was shot and injured during the flight. Fischer did not immediately respond to an NBC News request for comment.

“The detectives do not believe the suspects were targeting the victim because of the owner of the dogs,” the LAPD said in a press release. “However, the evidence suggests that the suspects knew the great value of the dog breed and were the motivation behind the theft.”

Gaga located the dogs, which were returned by a woman to the police shortly after. The woman was among those arrested.
