First Look: Game Menu Changes Coming to Rocket League | Rocket League®
Hi all!
We wanted to give you a glimpse of some upcoming changes Rocket League Play Menu next season.
For starters, the Play menu is getting a makeover for the first time since Rocket League became free to play in 2020. Featuring a new square design, each submenu will have a simplified layout that will help old and new players navigate through the menu. Play the menu easier and faster.

Along with a new look, we’re changing the location of some online playlists and other modes in the new Playback menu. We combine competitive playlists and extra mode playlists into one new one. Competitive card, which allows you to queue up to six different competitive playlists at once. Fulfilling a long-standing community request, you’ll finally be able to queue for modes like 3v3 Standard and 2v2 Hoops at the same time.
As part of this consolidation, we will alternate between Competitive Snow Day and Dropshot each season. Next season will include Competitive Snow Day, the next will include Competitive Dropshot, and so on.

Big changes are coming to the Casual map also, including two new ones Arcade Playlists. These will alternate each week in additional modes such as Heatseeker, Spike Rush, Rocket Labs and much more! Dropshot and Snow Day will also appear in the Arcade rotation whenever one of them is not an active competitive playlist, so expect to see Dropshot appear next season.
Alongside these new Playlists, 4v4 Chaos is evolving towards a new Playlist for a big partyrotating each week between 4v4 Chaos and Knockout.

Exhibition Mode, Season Mode, and Workshop Maps will now be self-contained. Play offline map, and the news Private Match The card contains both Private Match and LAN Match options. Training offers all the same options you know and love, just with an updated look.
Finally, we’re making a few more changes to the Playback menu:
-
You can join an existing private match directly from practice or an offline match.
-
Load and launch a different workshop map when you are already in a workshop map.
-
When in a group, you can now see your rank even if you are not the group leader.
While that covers what you can expect for the upcoming season, we’re not yet done with the changes and additions to the playback menu. Our goal in the first months of 2024 is to give you even more influence over the modes that appear in the Arcade Playlist, which we’ll talk more about in the new year.
Alongside new and different ways to play, we’re actively working on other quality of life improvements that touch on topics important to the community, including improving smurfing and skill placement. As we head into the next Rocket League season and an exciting holiday season, expect to hear more about these changes and improvements in 2024. Thanks everyone!
