CHICAGO (CBS) – Chicago firefighters are working to free a water department worker who got stuck in a hole Wednesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.
A spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department said crews were using a vacuum cleaner and other tools to remove water, dirt and other debris from the hole near 67th and East End Avenues. , after the worker got stuck in the muddy hole.

Unconfirmed dispatch reports said worker was helping set up a fire hydrant when she got stuck in the hole
A spokesperson for the fire department said the worker was in good spirits as crews struggled to free her.
