Firefighter injured in blaze that swept through three apartments in south Austin

CHICAGO (CBS) – A fire engulfed a three-apartment building in the South Austin neighborhood on Thursday night.

A firefighter was injured battling the blaze.

The fire department said the fire started at 4812 W. Jackson Blvd., just west of Cicero Avenue.

The fire department called a still alarm for additional manpower and equipment.

Photos provided by the CFD showed that the building appeared to be empty.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries and was transported to Rush University Medical Center in good condition.

The fire department declared the building vacant.
