“MS…when he was captain, he ran the fielding. And running between the wicket was a revelation to me. MS said ‘two things that are non-negotiable for me are fielding and running between the wicket’. And it’s something that is always true,” Sridhar told

“And the kind of emphasis he put on the pitch, Virat drove that forward. Ravi always said the top 11 outfielders would take the park. So that’s the kind of importance that was given to the land.”

When asked if he enjoyed working on field exercises with Indians, Sridhar replied that they all work so hard whenever they come to national camp or on tour abroad. He also mentioned a few names, including Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj who have been superb in training.

“Some of the best field sessions I’ve had are with Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Mohit Sharma was a great outfielder being a fast bowler. And the usual suspects are Kohli, Jadeja and Manish Pandey… you had fun playing with them. The guys like Chahal, Kuldeep and Kedar are the ones who worked very hard on their skills. I really enjoyed working with these guys,” Sridhar concluded.
