Federal authorities execute search warrants at home of acting police commissioner Thomas Donlon

NEW YORK (WABC) — Federal authorities are now investigating acting Police Commissioner Thomas Donlon, just days after he took office.

Donlon said authorities executed search warrants at his home Friday. He said officers confiscated documents that came into his possession 20 years ago.

Donlon says the documents are not related to his work with the NYPD.

Mayor Eric Adams sounded exasperated during his weekly Q&A address on Tuesday.&A session at City Hall where he answered the same questions about ongoing federal investigations.

“We know what you know,” he said. “I’m not going to keep going back to the questions that are asked or answered.”

Adams believes his accomplishments are overshadowed, but the fact is that his chief attorney said she could no longer defend Adams, and his police commissioner resigned after subpoenas were served on him, the schools chancellor, two deputy mayors, a senior city councilor and a private consultant, among others.

The investigations focus primarily on the NYPD’s nightlife enforcement practices and influence peddling in the awarding of municipal contracts.
