Laurienté’s winning entry
Armand Laurienté will remember his first two goals in Ligue 1. Entering 61 ‘in place of Quentin Boisgard, it only took him five minutes to open the scoring with a splendid free kick in the window of Moulin. The brace came four minutes from the end of the match. The Stéphanois defenders did not manage to stop the low center against Mendes, and Laurienté appeared at the far post.
The young midfielder trained at Stade Rennais could even have signed a hat-trick. Before his second goal, he had, thrown in depth by Abergel (72 ‘), failed on Moulin.
Strikes from afar paid off
Failing to succeed in worrying the great central defense of Saint-Etienne (1.97 m for Cissé and 1.91 m for Moukoudi), the Lorientais have, on several occasions, tried their luck from afar. First through Enzo Le Fée: the young midfielder landed the first Morbihan strike of the game (27 ‘), then almost, at the start of the second half, found Moulin’s frame with a good shot of the 20 meters which grazed the post (51 ‘). At 66 ‘, Le Fée out, it was Armand Laurienté who took over to shoot a free kick from more than 25 meters. Well it took him, with this sublime strike in the window of the goalkeeper of the Greens.
A superb operation in the standings
The two closest competitors of FCL in the standings, Nîmes and Nantes, clashing in the Gard, the Merlus knew they could make a good accounting operation. Nîmois and Nantais having neutralized (1-1), it was Lorient who made a superb operation in the standings by leaving the relegation zone. With 26 points, the Morbihannais are ahead of Nîmes (18th) by one and Nantes (19th) by two points.
