FC Barcelona activates the fourth lever to generate an additional 100 million euros before the opening of La Liga

B

arcelona has confirmed that it has sold a 24.5% stake in its audiovisual studio to production company Orpheus Media for 100 million euros.

The La Liga giants have come under fire this summer for an ambitious and aggressive recruitment drive to see Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde move to Camp Nou amid financial uncertainty.

As things stand, none of their new signings have been registered to play for the club ahead of their opener against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

The deal comes after the club signed a deal with digital fan token company Socios.com to sell 25% of their stake in Barca Studios last month.

“With this investment, the strategic partners of Barca Studios show their confidence in the value of the project and in the future of digital content in the world of sport,” the club said in a statement.

Barca have used several mechanisms to increase their revenue in order to offset losses, reduce debt and comply with La Liga Financial Fair Play rules.
