Farmer Union builds list of protest cancellation requests

Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), which is an umbrella body for farmers’ unions, today organized a mahapanchayat in Lucknow. The SKM led the protests against the agricultural laws.

Speaking to the congregation, Farmers Union leader Rakesh Tikait called on the government to invite farmers for talks so they can start returning home. The prime minister announced on Friday that farm laws would be repealed, but farmers have drawn up a list of demands to cancel the protest.

SKM demanded that the MSP based on the overall cost of production, ie the formula C2 + 50 percent, be a legal right for all farmers for all agricultural products.
