Far Cry 6 Release Date, System Requirements, Cast, Price, Gameplay, Review, And More

Far Cry 6, the sixth main installment in the Far Cry series, is set to release this week. Developed by Ubisoft Toronto, Far Cry 6 will be available on Amazon Luna, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Stadia. In the game, you play as local guerrilla fighter Dani Rojas (Sean Rey/Nisa Gunduz) trying to free the fictional Cuba-based island of Yara from the clutches of dictator Antón Castillo.

Yara is ruled with an iron fist by dictator Antón Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito, who you might remember as Gus Fring from the popular American television series Breaking Bad. Life is hard for the Yarans and they want to escape to a better life. Castillo’s politics isolated Yara from the rest of the world. Having lost his father in a revolution 60 years ago, Castillo grew up believing his country had been stolen from him. As an adult, he rode a populist wave to power, idealizing the pre-revolution Yara.

Far Cry 6 is about Cuba, but Yara is not Cuba

Played from a first-person perspective, Far Cry 6 puts you in the shoes of Dani Rajos (Sean Rey/Nisa Gunduz), a local Yaran who just wants to get away from it all. But after witnessing a horrific crime, Dani is driven to wage a guerrilla war against Castillo. Ubisoft Toronto traveled to Cuba to experience the culture and speak with former guerrillas and their descendants. Given Far Cry 5’s failures in dealing with political material, many are understandably concerned if Far Cry 6 gets its foot in a quagmire. On the surface, Ubisoft seems to handle political themes better this time around. Far Cry 6 Narrative Director Navid Khavari has publicly acknowledged that Far Cry 6 is a political game.

Here’s everything you need to know about Far Cry 6, including its price in India, PC system requirements, when to expect reviews, and more.

Far cry 6 game

In Far Cry 6, you play as local guerrilla fighter Dani Rojas (Sean Rey/Nisa Gunduz) trying to free their fictional Caribbean home island of Yara from the grip of dictator Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito). The game’s developers, Ubisoft Toronto, have built an entire (small) country, the largest map ever created for a Far Cry game. So, it only makes sense that Ubisoft Toronto wants you to slow down, breathe, and explore the beauty of Yara. That’s why the developers have come up with a gun holster system.

Far Cry 6 Global Director Benjamin Hill told reporters that players can put their weapons away and blend in, as long as they don’t do anything antisocial. you’re not in any area that the military considers protected or restricted, you can actually explore Yara,” Hill said. You can stand on the beach and just watch the sun go down, or they can take a walk downtown where you can listen to the conversations.

Far Cry games are usually played from a first-person perspective. All you see are the characters arms and legs. But Far Cry 6 should be the first Far Cry game to show the face of the character, Dani Rojas. It’s because Ubisoft Toronto wanted local guerrillas to voice their opinions. Dani’s face is also shown for players to connect and feel the protagonist as the character goes on a journey. Dani Rojas is played by Sean Rey (as a man) or Nisa Gunduz (as a woman).

There will be no difference in their character journey whether you choose to play as male or female. Far Cry 6 Narrative Producer Nicola Jones said, “We wanted to make sure the only difference was the performance between Nisa and Sean. The dialogue is the same. The whole character arc, every conversation Dani has with our key characters, is exactly the same. It was really important. You should choose which hero you want to take this journey with, but you shouldn’t have to compromise on what story you get as a result.

Unlike the protagonists of previous installments of the game, the protagonist of Far Cry 6 is a local born and bred person. Far Cry 6 narrative director Navid Khavari believes this aspect will make it a “much more personal fight” as they “fight for the freedom of their country”.

Far Cry 6 review

Early reviews for Far Cry 6 would be available on Wednesday, October 6, a day before the game’s release.
