Does Andre Swift play week 1?

Concern continues to escalate with the availability of Swift Week 1. Right now, it is believed that Swift (groin) will be on the wrong side of “questionable” ahead of the Detroit opener. In other words, he’s probably more likely to miss week 1 than play. It’s a bit worrying considering he missed three games in his rookie season. However, there is an opportunity to take advantage of it here, as his ADP will experience some kind of decline. In PPR leagues, he will be especially valuable when he is in good health. Detroit also quietly has one of the league’s best offensive lines on paper. It is always said to take it if it falls too far into your drafts. You will probably be able to catch it in a place that will not paralyze you in week 1.

Jamaal Williams and Jamar Jefferson will be the beneficiaries of his absence. Williams has shown he can be relevant to fantasy in the past, and with Swift’s preseason injuries he’s one of the best RB handcuffs in the NFL.

Swift is our # 17 RB in Standard Leagues and our # 16 RB in PPR, although it looks like he can get it more value for money than these rankings.

AJ Brown / Julio Jones injury update

Brown and Jones were both in Titans practice Monday doing something that at least looked like play soccer. They were both running routes and were active, and that’s about all we need to hear as fantasy owners. They’ve been in similar situations this offseason. Both would surely play if a game came up, but the Titans have been very careful with their superstar wide receiver duo. Brown suffers from an unspecified knee injury, but again he would dress if a game was held today.

Jones’ injury has not been disclosed, but the idea is that his absence is more of an extreme precaution. Additionally, Jones has rarely been in training for Atlanta in recent seasons. It’s just about not upsetting the 31-year-old future Hall of Fame member they just traded for. He will slowly be reinstated in a full training environment, but don’t be surprised if he appears on the match week injury report.

At this point, there’s also no indication that they’ll miss week 1, and they’re too good to fade into fantastic drafts. If for some reason either or both suffer setbacks, Josh Reynolds, Marcus Johnson, and Dez Fitzpatrick are all candidates to take on some of their responsibilities.

Brown is our # 9 WR as standard and # 11 WR in PPR. Jones is WR18 as standard and WR20 as PPR.

Trey Lance Injury Update

Lance is set to miss a week of training with a chipped bone on his finger. He was injured in the 49ers’ last preseason game against the Raiders. Although this is a minor illness, it is worth keeping track of its status. Missing a week of training in a positional fight is obviously not ideal, and it remains to be seen if that will affect his game. The news shouldn’t take you away from Lance entirely, but it certainly doesn’t help his. case of playing early, which he might not have had before the injury anyway.

Lance is still a valuable bench reserve with a league-winning header later in the season. Pair it up with a mid-level QB and hopefully “Trey SZN” arrives soon.

Lance is currently our number 23 QB. His low ranking is mainly due to the uncertainty of his situation. If he starts games early in the season, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him produce QB1 numbers with his rapid rise and the 49ers’ talented passer.
