Fajardó questioned Gustavo Petro’s first decisions: “There are a lot of people named by Twitter”

Although the former governor of Antioquia and presidential candidate Sergio Fajardo has said that it declares independence from the government of Gustavo Petroin its first days has raised questions about various actions and policies announced by the president.

Even the president of the Alianza Verde party, Antonio Navarro Wolf, who accompanied him in his presidential aspiration until the first round, pointed out that Fajardo seemed to be the main opponent of the new administration to which the former candidate reiterated that his position would always be consistent with independence.

Although he has celebrated the appointments in the Ministry of Educationone of the sectors in which it has a main interest, has questioned what it considers to be a lack of knowledge of the Petro government’s strategy to confront corruption and a policy of total peace “in an effort”, it has said.

Likewise, Fajardo said he is concerned about the leadership of the new administrationthe political management of the Presidency of the Republic, as well as the profiles of the people who will be in charge of the Ministry of Transport, Health and Mines and Energy, whom he does not know due to their administrative experience, according to the former candidate in an interview with Caracol Radio.

Regarding the appointments, Fajardo affirmed that there has been a “very large mix with an extraordinary diversity.” Mainly in the portfolios that most interest the new government, such as the Foreign Ministry, which will be in charge of Álvaro Leyva; the Ministry of Defense headed by Iván Velásquez; Treasury with José Antonio Ocampo and Interior with Alfonso Prada, as well as the General Secretariat that Mauricio Lizcano will direct.

“That is a basic nucleus on which all the others rely to advance in their management and in that basic core you have people who have been part of the establishment. For example, Lizcano is in the General Secretariat associated with the president, he is the one who works with the politicians who come close to the president; Roy Barreras is the president of the Senate who is the one who works with the politicians in the Senate; and Alfonso Prada is the Minister of the Interior who is the one who works with the bridge in Congress and the Presidency and those are three people from the political establishment of the establishment of all life”, Fajardo told the station.

For Fajardo, the election of the work team or cabinet is essential for the government’s work, due to his personal experience. That is why he questions, not only the people selected to integrate the Executive, but also the way in which that selection has been made.

There are a lot of people who have been named by Twitter, who have not spoken to the president to be appointed as ministers, for example, that the president’s secretary calls them to tell them if they want to be ministers. I say: there is something very strange here,” said Fajardo.

According to him, there are people who have found out about the appointment through social networks, so he considers that the president does not know them and, in that sense, he proposes that the president must have a permanent dialogue and broad leadership to maintain the line of its officials towards the objectives of change that has been set.

“Lots of people with very different backgrounds, very different looks, some without any government management experiencethat it happens that the president has to be very present and whoever is by his side as a private secretary has a very preponderant role, “said the former governor of Antioquia.

He stated that he was concerned about the appointment of Irene Velez for the Ministry of Mines and Energy because it is very concerned, because it was first associated with the Ministry of Science. “Poor our sciences that are always the lastrelegated, who have not yet named the person who is going to lead, “he added.

He also questioned Carolina Cork in the Ministry of Health, considering that he does not have administrative experience. Although he said that this does not mean that things will go wrong, he maintains that it requires greater responsibility from the president to maintain permanent interaction. “The Minister of Transport (William Reyes) I don’t have the slightest idea, it could be my ignorance, I don’t know what training and capacity I have for the infrastructure”, he pointed out.
