F1 British Grand Prix: Session start times, standings and how to watch

Lewis Hamilton is optimistic Mercedes can put the brakes on Max Verstappen’s potential march to the 2022 world title, 12 months after their dramatic first-round clash at this circuit.

There is plenty of interest at home for the hundreds of thousands of people cramming onto the A43 with George Russell and Lando Norris also hoping for good results, as well as British-born Thai rider Alex Albon.

Here are all the details before the weekend…

When is the F1 British Grand Prix?

The British Grand Prix takes place this weekend, with the race set for Sunday July 3, 2022.

Track action kicks off on Friday with the first practice at 1:00 p.m. BST before the second practice at 4:00 p.m.

On Saturday, the third practice is scheduled for 12 p.m. and qualifying begins at 3 p.m.

Race day is Sunday with the lights off in the books for 3 p.m.

How can I watch the F1 British Grand Prix?

Free TV: Channel 4 will show the entire race on terrestrial TV, with coverage starting at 1.30pm.

Satellite TV channel: The race will be shown live on Sky Sports F1 and Main Event, with coverage also starting at 1.30pm.

Direct: Sky Sports subscribers can also tune in online via the Sky Go app. All4 will also be streaming the race live for free.
