Will there one day be a player more talented than the maestro that is Ronaldinho?

It’s been 18 years since Barcelona signed him – and he was better than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, according to his former Barca teammate Deco.

“When we didn’t know what to do, there were chances to score,” he said.

The “cheeky little chappie” was an absolute magician and no one can question him.

But at the same time, he partied too much, trained too little and lacked the desire and commitment to keep his level at the highest level.

Ronaldinho’s downfall was sad to see, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that when he was in his prime he was a complete genius. This is why Paul Scholes and the Manchester United squad got excited when it emerged the Brazilian was heading to the Premier League before Barca beat them in the fist.

Ronaldinho has left his mark on some of the biggest names in the game, and who better to start off than his biggest Deco fan?

Deco

Deco played alongside Ronaldinho at Barcelona from 2004-2008 and helped the club win the Champions League and two La Liga titles.

“From the start it is clear that Leo and Cristiano are the greatest,” he said. AS.

“Particularly because no one thought they could take that many years at this level, but the one that impressed me the most although he wasn’t that decisive was Ronnie.

“For me he will always be the best.”

When you get applause from arguably the greatest player who ever lived, then you know you must have done something right.

“The first year he didn’t win anything, but people fell in love with him.

“Then the trophies started coming in and he made all these people happy. Barca should always be grateful for everything they have done.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The legendary striker named his former AC Milan teammate in his dream eleven of the players he played with in 2018.

“Ronaldinho was phenomenal. He made his opponents look like children,” he said.

Coming from Ibrahimovic, that’s really something.

Frank Rijkaard

Rijkaard and Ronaldinho joined Barcelona at the same time and reportedly clicked immediately.

“He’s the man who makes the difference between a team that plays well and one that is truly memorable,” said Rijkaard.

“Ronaldinho alone can decide a game.”

“Ronaldinho is a total class – a very, very great player. He is fast, powerful and has extraordinary technical qualities, ”he said.

“He’s a dribbler but he’s also a player who can play for his teammates.

“He’s not really a No. 10, a real organizer. Rather, he’s a second striker who can score goals and has the vision to score them.
