Experts Andrew Johns, Brad Fittler and Nine choose their winners
Bulldogs chief football officer Phil Gould says the team need to show more than wit if they are to cause a big upset for the Rabbitohs in their Good Friday clash.
Speaking on Wide World of Sports’ Six tackles with Gus podcast, Gould brushed off praise from host Mat Thompson who observed the Bulldogs “play for each other” despite being 15th on the ladder.
“It’s a no-brainer. Trying hard and not giving up are good qualities, but it’s a no-brainer that’s what you should be doing when you’re an NRL player,” Gould said.

“It’s the bare minimum, obviously they have to sort their football both attacking and defending.”
He added South Sydney would be tough to beat even with last year’s big runners looking at another extended stint without injured star Latrell Mitchell.
“They got through last season without Latrell and made it to the Grand Finals,” Gould said.
“It’s not like they haven’t learned how to do it. Blake Taaffe is a really good player and Cody Walker is the ingredient of that.”
Gould and Thompson both tipped the Bulldogs to win, as did fellow Nine players Andrew Johns and Billy Slater.
