Exclusive: iQOO 12 will have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 144 fps gaming, launch confirmed on November 7

Sub-brand vivo iQOO will reportedly launch the iQOO 12 series on November 7, and we’ve already seen the vanilla model in a purported hands-on image last week.

Today we have some exclusive details about the iQOO 12 that we are very excited to share with you. First, the official launch in China is actually happening on November 7, with a global release planned for later this year.

The phone will be among the first to hit the market with the just-revealed Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, perhaps unsurprisingly. However, it will be the first gaming-oriented phone to integrate the new SoC.

To improve gaming graphics, the iQOO 12 will use a dedicated display processor with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, similar to the technology Apple introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro last month. This is supposed to enable ultra-realistic lighting, reflections and shadows in mobile games for a big step forward in immersion.

The iQOO 12 will run popular mobile games like PUBG Mobile, PUBG New State, Genshin Impact, and LoL Mobile at 144fps with frame interpolation. By the way, this isn’t the full list of games that will be supported – expect even more surprises. The phone will exceed the native frame rate cap set by the game developers, in order to deliver a true high frame rate gaming experience.

In recent years, iQOO has collaborated with BMW M Motorsport, and this will not change with the release of the iQOO 12. There will also be a special “BMW M Motorsport-inspired Legend Edition”. Expect the usual BMW M stripes on the rear, as well as custom themes.

The iQOO 12 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting releases in the coming weeks, so stay tuned as we try to uncover even more details.
