Mumbai police have registered an FIR against former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli for allegedly assaulting and abusing his drunk wife at his home in the suburb of Bandra, an official said on Sunday.
No arrests have been made so far in relation to the alleged incident which happened on Friday, he said.

Kambli’s wife then went to Bhabha Hospital for a medical examination.
Based on his complaint, Bandra Police on Friday registered the FIR against Kambli under Sections 324 of the Indian Penal Code (willful injury by dangerous weapons) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to cause a breach of the peace), the official said.
An investigation is ongoing into the matter, he added.
