Ex-cop found not guilty of shooting in Breonna Taylor raid

The only Kentucky officer criminally charged in the failed raid on Breonna Taylor’s home was found not guilty on Thursday nearly two years after he was shot.

Former Louisville cop Brett Hankison had been charged with endangering Taylor’s neighbors on March 13, 2020, when he fired his gun during the raid.

None of his punches hit Taylor, and the other two officers involved in the raid were never charged with crimes.

The failed 2020 raid resulted in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor.

Louisville police have remanded Hankison for the June 2020 reckless shooting. Last week, jurors who found Hankison not guilty visited Taylor’s home to help inform their decision.
