Tributes were paid to Ava White, who was tragically killed

A photo of the 12-year-old was shown on the big screen at Goodison Park and the two groups of supporters united in their tribute.

A banner stating “No more knives in our city” was also on display in the stadium.

White’s life was tragically taken when she was attacked in Liverpool city center over the weekend.

A 14-year-old boy, who has not been named for legal reasons, has been charged with the murder of the 12-year-old.

Police said Ava was involved in a “verbal argument” which then turned into “an assault on her with a knife”.

White was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital but sadly passed away a little later.

A vigil is also scheduled for Saturday, December 4 on Church Street.
