Evergrande reportedly considered reimbursing offshore bondholders with cash installments

Under the proposal, Evergrande would seek to repay foreign creditors the principal and interest of the debt by rolling them into new bonds. The new bonds will then be repaid in tranches over a period of 7 to 10 years. In some context, the amount owed by Evergrande to its offshore public bondholders is approximately $19 billion.

Evergrande also expects to finalize the proposal by July and sign agreements with investors by December.

This is a lot to talk about, but it remains to be seen how they will get enough cash to implement this repayment plan.
