Former Pakistani opening hitter Salman Butt said even Babar Azam wanted to see Virat Kohli score runs. The former India captain struggled to get big runs under his belt for some time and Kohli was under the scanner in his last century in 2019 against Bangladesh.
Virat KohliThe struggle of getting big runs under his belt has been a matter of debate for some time. The former India captain failed to impress in the recently concluded series against England. Kohli couldn’t even score fifty throughout the tour, which may be a worrying sign for team management as they look to focus on the squad for the marquee tournament that is expected to start later this year.
Many former cricketers have shown their support for Virat Kohli and the most recent is Salman’s buttocks. The former Pakistan team’s opening hitter says even Babar Azam wants to see Virat Kohli regain his form.
“Even Babar Azam wants to see him score points. Virat Kohli is a great player, there is no doubt about it. Any player can have bad patches, sometimes they can last longer. People stop believing in you. But then the big guys always come back,” Salman Butt said on his official YouTube channel.
Salman Butt also said Virat Kohli should be supported instead of belittled.
“When he was enjoying a good run for many years, people used to say, ‘this guy can never lose form’. So that’s the human side. He should be supported instead of saying ‘he failed’ over and over again. It’s a game of cricket at the end of the day,” he added.
