According to ESPN, Erling Haaland has rejected a move to Manchester United next summer as he feels the club cannot match his ambitions on the pitch. The Red Devils have been linked with a transfer of the young Norwegian striker this summer, although they are not the only side in contention.
With less than three months until the summer window opens, the biggest concern in football’s mind is what happens to Erling Haaland. Rumors have been swirling for more than eighteen months now, since the Norwegian’s release clause was unveiled to the world. However, since then the 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to almost every club in Europe’s top leagues.
But while no move has yet materialized, ESPN reported that Manchester United were dropped from the race by Haaland himself. The Red Devils have been among those heavily linked with a move for the former RB Salzburg striker, but the report said Haaland fears a move to Old Trafford could damage his future. The striker reportedly has big ambitions and doesn’t think the Red Devils will help him achieve them.
Manchester United are in the market for a new striker, however, and have reportedly made a lucrative offer for the 21-year-old striker only to be told Haaland is interested. Moreover, ESPN reported that the striker is only looking for the right project and won’t sign for a club that offers him the most money. But there is still a chance that the Borussia Dortmund star plays in England as Manchester City and chelsea have been linked to a move.
