Eric Trump roasted on wild claims about his father’s relationship with Putin

Eric Trump made a series of claims about his father’s “great relationship” with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday that sparked ridicule on social media.

“Putin was with the KGB, he could read people and he could tell that Donald Trump was a very strong person,” Eric Trump replied when Sean Hannity of Fox News asked him why Putin hadn’t invaded Ukraine under the Trump administration.

He highlighted the former president’s relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“And what did my father say?” “You know, Kim, you’re having fun with us, you’re going to face fire and fury like you’ve never seen before.” Right?” he said. “And then a few months later, they shake hands in North Korea, and the relationship was perfect.”

According to the young Trump, this “perfect” relationship showed backbone. “Biden does the exact opposite of that every day.”

Hannity then asked his guest to explain why President Joe Biden has not retaliated against reported Russian threats to use “nuclear”, chemical weapons, biological weapons or cyber warfare.

“Rather than saying, ‘We’ll do this to you if you ever dare touch us,’ it’s just, you know, it sounds like Joe is scared,” Hannity said.

The United States and its NATO allies have imposed substantial economic sanctions on Russia and approved billions in military and humanitarian aid for Ukraine, but have refrained from any move that could cause open conflict between the NATO and Russia that could escalate into a nuclear war.

Trump claimed his father would simply call Putin and say, “Vladimir, don’t even think about it.”

He later added that his father shared a great relationship with Putin while Biden “has no relationship with Putin.”

Trump was notoriously deferential to autocratic leaders like Putin, Kim, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while frequently criticizing American allies. As president, he regularly on Putin’s side despite Russian aggression against Ukraine and refused to condemn its actions even after the invasion of Ukraine.

Many commentators noted that they had no problem with Biden’s lack of relationship with Putin.

Some of Eric Trump’s other claims also inspired mockery:
