Ellen White netted a hat-trick as the England women claimed a comfortable 6-0 win over Northern Ireland in interim manager Hege Riise’s opener on Tuesday.

England were playing their first international game in 11 months, but there was little sign of rusting on Sir Bobby Charlton’s pitch at St George’s Park.

Jill Scott won her 150th cap for England in the friendly, and after White’s double quickfire (18, 23), Lucy Bronze was also on target (29) in a dominant outing for the Lionesses.

White completed her hat trick four minutes into the interval before more strikes from Rachel Daly (67) and a penalty from Ella Toone (75) completed the rout.
