ENG vs NZ | Jack Leach ruled out of Lord Test, Matt Parkinson to make debut as replacement with concussion

In an unfortunate incident during the first Test between England and New Zealand, spinner Jack Leach was ruled out of the match with a concussion after his efforts on the pitch on the border. Matt Parkinson will replace him for his concussion and will also make his Test debut against New Zealand.

England started the first Test at Lord’s brilliantly against New Zealand and are in a better position so far. The visitors decided to bat first and England dominated the sets from the start with their disciplined bowling. They have now put the opposition on the verge of going all out in the first two sessions of the game. However, the team suffered a heavy blow in the morning session of the match. Jack Leach landed awkwardly on his head trying to save a boundary. He succeeded in his attempt but we saw him suffer after the effort.

Leach showed signs of concussion after the head injury and was therefore ruled out of the game. The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed the development in a social media post.

Matt Parkinson is named a concussion replacement and will make his Test debut. He will also become the first-ever England substitute for a concussion once on the pitch.
