After the dismantling of that of Brech, following a fire in 2014, it was the only one still standing. It was one of the last vestiges of the struggle of the Bonnets Rouges, a social movement of an unprecedented scale in Brittany, eight years ago. These had appeared on this site as everywhere in Brittany, but the portico had not, or little, been damaged.
Traffic was restricted to one lane in each direction. A flatbed truck, multiple construction vehicles and a high lifting capacity mobile crane had been at work since morning.
