HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Two-term incumbent Elisa Ferrell announced Thursday that she will seek a third term on the Huntsville City School Board.
Ferrell was first elected in 2014 and re-elected unopposed in 2018. She represents District 3.
“I care about the future of our children and the school system in the city of Huntsville,” Ferrell said. “That’s why I’m running for re-election to continue representing South Huntsville.”
Prior to the 2014 election, Ferrell served as president of the Huntsville Council of PTAs and president of Grissom High School PTSA. During her tenure on the Board of Directors, she served as President and Vice-President.
“Growth in our city brings tough times for our schools,” Ferrell continued. “I believe that my eight years of experience will be a stable force for the board.
Ferrell is a graduate of Scripps College and is married with five children and two grandchildren.
Municipal elections in the town of Huntsville will be held on Tuesday, August 23. If necessary, second round elections will be held on September 20.
