Regulated electricity tariffs should experience a further increase “around 12%” in February, Minister of Ecological Transition Barbara Pompili said on Thursday.

For electricity, “we expect an increase of around 12%,” said the minister. This increase will take place in February. “But in the same way (as for the rise in gas prices, Editor’s note, we are working so that our fellow citizens are not too impacted”, she said on CNews, while the Prime Minister must unveil in the evening consumer aid measures to cope with the increase in energy prices.

As for the regulated gas tariff, it will further increase by 15% on November 1.

Prime Minister Jean Castex will be this Thursday evening at 8 p.m. on TF1 where he must announce new measures to cope with rising energy prices.
