Here’s what Vance had to say:

Do you agree with the Biden administration’s policies advocating tougher gun laws?

Vance“No. The problem with the Biden administration’s approach to guns is that it reduces the rights of law-abiding Americans without reducing the crimes committed by criminals. We have a mass shooting problem in America. We also have an inner city violence problem, and both of these problems are tied to the fact that we have skyrocketing rates of depression and other mental illnesses. At the same time, thanks to the attack of Joe Biden and Tim Ryan vs. US Police, our local law enforcement is understaffed and underfunded Let’s address the root causes of mental health (like fatherless homes) and fully support our police to deal with crime These interventions would do much more than seize guns to solve our real problems.

Do you agree or disagree with President Biden’s immigration policy?

Vance“I don’t know if he has an immigration policy, besides encouraging an unlimited flow of illegal crime and drugs into our country. These policies are undermining the wages of American workers, straining our resources – like our schools and our hospitals – and guarantee a constant flow of drugs and crime in our country. Biden has completely abandoned our border in chaos, and Tim Ryan has supported him every step of the way. There is a lot with which I don’t agree with Joe Biden’s agenda, but his border policies are possibly the worst set of policies to come from an American president in a generation and most of the media either turns a blind eye or calls leaders like me terrible names for stating the obvious.

Why should you, and not your opponent, be elected in November?

Vance“Our country has been corrupted, belittled, and exploited by a generation of failed leaders, and I’m the only candidate in this race who acknowledges that and intends to stop it. When Democrats and the media smear Republicans of racists for defending the southern border and protecting our communities from drugs, Tim Ryan joined the chorus I fought against her When Democrats say inflation is a small price to pay for their utopia of ‘green energy, Tim Ryan voted with them every step of the way. I attacked their policies and would vote against them. When the Democrats determined that law enforcement was bad and racist, thus justifying the policies that saw our murder rate skyrocket, Tim Ryan was the loudest voice criticizing the This is why the Ohio Fraternal of Police stood by me.

“Most importantly, I lived the American dream and I will fight for it. My hometown was devastated by the bipartisan decision to ship manufacturing jobs from Ohio to China. I enlisted in the Marines the same year that Tim Ryan started life as a career politician. I’ve seen what happens when our leaders prioritize welfare checks over good jobs for citizens, and when they give non-citizens the rights they deny Americans. And even as I have seen the failures of our leaders, I have also benefited from the incredible spirit of our people: teachers who tried my luck, grandparents who fought for me, taxpayers who allowed me to go to school. Today I am a business owner, husband and father of three young children. This would not be possible without Ohio’s bounty, and now it’s time to make sure the next generation still has a country worth living in.”

If you are elected, what would be your first agenda?

Vance“I would refuse to give Biden a dime for his policies until we secure the border. That’s the most important thing we can do right now. We also need to open up US energy exploration to put end inflation and make America a place where hardworking citizens can actually lead a good life. But there’s so much to do. Between the spending sprees – a big driver of inflation – and the war on the local police, we have so much work to do at the next Congress and beyond.

What is one thing you admire about your opponent?

Vance“Honestly, I think Tim Ryan has a good heart. I really believe that 20 years ago he wanted to go to Washington to help people in his neighborhood. But, like so many others, he got bribed by this town and stopped thinking for himself. That’s why he votes with Biden 100% of the time. And that’s why we need new leadership to take our great state in a different direction.

Check back next week for another edition of Election Spotlight to hear from the candidates on the election this fall.
