Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn admits he’s looking forward to the day someone ‘lies’ Jake Paul.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to fight Tyson Fury’s half-brother Tommy on August 13 after their bout was canceled last year.
Paul is 5-0 in his professional career but has yet to face a big-name boxer, with his wins over another YouTuber, a basketball player and two MMA fighters.
Fury’s 8-0 record also lacks substance and Hearn, who doesn’t promote either, insists both are “very limited”.
Nonetheless, after co-promoting Amanda Serrano against Katie Taylor with Paul, Hearn insists the internet star is having a positive impact on boxing.
Still, he says “it will be a nice day” when someone knocks the 25-year-old American out.
“I don’t represent them, but I hear this fight [Paul vs Fury] is happening on August 13, so you can see it,” Hearn told Drive on talkSPORT.
“Both are very limited, but as long as it’s a competitive fight it doesn’t really matter.
“Jake Paul is strange, but I like what he does for boxing.
“I did Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor with him and it was a lot of fun, it was a big hit.
“He puts in the work and he’s not terrible.
“But it will be a nice day when someone talks to him.”
