Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer looks like a celebrity-filled LARP

The resurgence of J&D in pop culture continues with an upcoming live-action film set in the fantasy universe. A new trailer for the film – which goes by the somewhat convoluted name of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Thieves — kicked off San Diego Comic-Con, showing a film that seems to jump between serious fantasy epic and light-hearted action-comedy.

Here’s the setup: “A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic heist to recover a lost relic, but things go dangerously wrong when they run into the wrong people.” Along with the trailer, we also got a glimpse of a poster for the movie, which, perhaps unsurprisingly, focuses on the “dragons” part of Dungeons & Dragons.

If nothing else, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Regé-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, and Hugh Grant. And he follows a little popular J&D-series centered in stranger thingswhich has just completed its fourth season.

honor among thieves is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2023.
