Driver shot in face during road rage encounter in North Carolina after water was dumped by splashing bottles on car: Sheriff

A North Carolina woman who became enraged with another driver after water splashed her car on the freeway was shot in the face in a road rage incident – and a suspect has since been arrested.

Rescuers transported Angela Mischelle Duncan of Gastonia, 43, to hospital after a bullet entered the right rear window of the car she was driving around 10:40 a.m. Sunday as she traveled on US 321 South near the Gaston-Lincoln County Line, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. She was punched in the face, according to The Charlotte Observer, and her condition was not known as of Tuesday morning.


The deputies who arrived at the scene first found two vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road, and “officers learned that the occupants of the vehicles had an altercation on the freeway as they made their way to the road. south on Hwy 321, ”according to the sheriff’s office.

The dispute erupted after Duncan became angry with another driver for throwing water from a bottle on the freeway and some of the liquid splashing onto his vehicle, said Larry Seagle, carrier. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Charlotte Observer.

Fox News left a voicemail message at the sheriff’s office on Tuesday but did not receive an immediate response.

The driver of the other vehicle now faces two charges. Londen David Feldman II, 23, of Hickory, is charged with assault with a lethal weapon causing serious injury and discharging a gun at an occupied property. Feldman was arrested Sunday at 700 John Howell Memorial Drive in Lincolnton and was held in Lincoln County Jail on $ 35,000 bail, an arrest report viewed by Fox News. His trade was listed as a plumber.

A Lincoln County grand jury indicted Feldman on Monday night with the charges, WSOC-TV reported. The station reported that both vehicles stopped and dialed 911 after the incident, and that the sheriff was working with the district attorney’s office to determine the appropriate charges.

MPs seized two guns from Feldman’s car and another gun from Duncan’s car, the sheriff’s office press release said. A passenger, identified as 19-year-old Kara Lynn Parsley of Hickory, has been questioned by lawmakers but has not been charged, the Gaston Gazette reported.


Duncan was treated at the CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia for his gunshot wound to the face and has since been released, the Gaston Gazette reported, citing Seagle.
