Donnell Wallam is set to make his debut for the Australian Diamonds in their next three-Test series against England’s Vitality Roses.
The series marks the second half of England and Australia’s winter matches. England will first face Uganda in October and Australia will meet New Zealand in the Constellation Cup.
Australia head coach Stacey Marinkovich has named two separate squads for their competitions, with Wallam one of those arriving for the series against England only.
The Firebirds and former Leeds Rhinos Netball athlete were a training partner with the Diamonds gold medal winning Commonwealth Games team.
The 6-foot-2 shooter is a former state basketball player and someone who came to netball late in her athletic career. She only started playing netball at elite level two years before signing for Leeds Rhinos in 2020 and proved early on that she was capable of delivering under huge pressure.

Midfielder and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Ash Brazill did not make himself available for selection after deciding to take a break and spend time with his family.
Both captain Liz Watson and vice-captain Steph Wood are part of the Constellation Cup squad, but the Diamonds will be trailing others when they face England.
“The upcoming international series against New Zealand and England gives us a unique opportunity to continue to build on what we have built over the last 18 months and what we have delivered from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games,” said Said Marinkovich.
“While we are extremely proud of the recent result at the Commonwealth Games and have learned that the depth and competitive nature of international netball is fierce.

Chelsea Pitman returns to the Vitality Roses squad for England’s next round against Uganda, live on Sky Sports.
“I look forward to reconnecting with our team as everyone will be refreshed and re-energized to align our focus with the 2023 Netball World Cup,” Marinkovich continued.
“We will continue to develop and challenge the depth of our squad, allowing players to contribute to building our path.”
