Donations to Huntsville Hospital Giving Tuesday will have a twofold impact

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – The Huntsville Hospital Foundation (HHF) has announced that donations made through its Giving Tuesday website will now go twice as much thanks to a generous donation from Bentley Automotive Group.

With Thanksgiving officially in the books and Black Friday deals in the past, the focus can now be on National Giving Day, or “Giving Tuesday”. The foundation’s goal is to raise $ 80,000 for new respiratory equipment.

HHF’s Giving Tuesday campaign will help support sick children here in northern Alabama. The group says 100% of the proceeds will be used to purchase new equipment for the pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric emergency department at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children.

The funds will purchase a portable CMAC that will help with the insertion of a vent, ventilator for respiratory support, and transcutaneous CO2 monitor and sensor, which will help reduce blood samples and sticks for patients requiring more blood level monitoring.

They say this equipment would increase the Huntsville Hospital’s ability to treat respiratory illnesses in children, including RSV, influenza and rhinovirus.

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for Women and Children at Huntsville Hospital has seen a 65% increase in pediatric ventilator use just for 2021. They say the need for more equipment will only increase. as our region continues to grow.

Donations can be made online here, by phone by calling 256-265-8077, or in person by check at the foundation office, located at 801 Clinton Avenue East, Huntsville, AL. 35801
