Dolphins vs St George Illawarra Dragons results, kick off time, updates, Round 13 news; Phil Gould warns of ‘major upheaval’; Joe Ofahengaue injured for Parramatta; Danny Buderus hints at NSW Blues State of Origin hooker plans

Rugby league pundit Phil Gould has issued a warning to Parramatta as the team prepare to face North Queensland who have just suffered a diabolical 66-18 loss to the Tigers.

Gould thinks the Eels should prepare for an ambush as the Cowboys come out determined to make up for their last performance.

“The difference between the two teams was amazing, having said that this Parramatta team always followed a good performance with a medicore,” he said on 2GB’s Wide World of Sports Radio.

“They’re missing a few key forwards in addition to others they’re missing tonight and I don’t know what’s going on at the Cowboys – I don’t know how motivated they are or the preparation they’ve had.

“Tonight their attacking group looks stronger and they look stronger on the bench.

“I should think Parramatta’s spine, which is intact tonight, has got to get them over the line, but I don’t think it’ll be easy for them, and they haven’t usually put two big ones together. … I think it will be pretty close.”

The Canterbury Bulldogs general manager added that motivation shouldn’t be a problem for North Queensland.

“The Cowboys had a pretty ordinary season by their standards considering the way they played last year, we thought when they beat the Roosters in the Magic Round they could have gotten away with it and recover,” he said.

“I just can’t explain a performance like that last week, if they’re just dinkum what should be easy tonight is the motivation…they should be ready to turn it around.

“They’re coming back forward and I like the look of their bench, teams that have conceded 50 or 60 points can turn things around next week, not saying it’s going to happen tonight but the motivation should be there.

“They have the attacking group, if they can get a good start and get a lead… I wouldn’t miss the first 20 minutes tonight.

“It’s easy for the Cowboys to prepare and hard for Parramatta to prepare, how do you prepare for a team that got 60 points against them last week?

“It has all the hallmarks of a major upset.”
