Dog left tied to a fire hydrant in Green Bay, with a note from the owner

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) – A dog has been found abandoned and tied to a fire hydrant in Green Bay, prompting the Wisconsin Humane Society to remind everyone that they will never turn away an animal in need.

A message from WHS says the dog had a note with her explaining that the owners could no longer care for her.

The dog, named “Baby Girl”, was left with a bag full of dog food, treats and toys.

Baby Girl is now in care at WHS and she is “doing great”.

The WHS Facebook post says in part:

“While we will never let fees be a hindrance and welcome anonymous surrenders, we see that you did what you thought was best for your beloved pup and we appreciate your compassion. Rest assured that she is safe, she is getting tons of attention from our team, and she is on her way to finding her next loving family very soon. We wish you all the best and hope that if you see this you can rest a little more peacefully knowing that your little girl has a bright future ahead of her.
