Dodgers Fans Give Us All Chills With Freddie Freeman Chants

As we’ve said many times, the Los Angeles Dodgers are a powerhouse and possibly early favorites to win the 2022 World Series.

In the offseason, moreover, the rich got even richer when Los Angeles signed Freddie Freeman to a whopping six-year contract.

Freeman, the 2020 National League MVP, hit .300 with 31 home runs, 120 runs scored and 83 RBIs last season before winning five more home runs in the playoffs, taking the Atlanta Braves to their first World Series title since 1995.

The Dodgers played on the road to open the season until Thursday, when Dodger Stadium finally got to meet and greet their next star.

“Freddie Freeman showered with ‘Freddie! Freddi!’ chants on his Dodger Stadium debut. He’s home,” Blake Harris tweeted Thursday.

A very cool moment for Freeman

The Dodgers ended up winning Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds, 9-3, so Freeman will have a positive and lasting first impression of his new team.

Despite his rooting for the Angels growing up, Freeman grew up in California and calls Los Angeles his home.

Last night he seemed quite touched as the crowd chanted his name, and was clearly grateful for the gesture.

As the Dodgers’ second hitter, he went 2-for-5 with a double and a few runs scored.

Last year he showed he still had enough gas in the tank to make an impact on a competitor, even at 32.

He may not reach the last year of his contract as the offensive machine he is today, but the Dodgers are betting he gives them at least four or five seasons of elite production.

He’s certainly gotten off to a great start and Dodgers fans already love him.

By all accounts, he’ll learn to love them in no time.
