Djokovic comes back to win Roland-Garros

Novak Djokovic won his second French Open Championship and his 19th Grand Slam title by beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in a rocking final at Roland Garros.

The score was 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.

Djokovic also wiped out a two-set deficit to win in the fourth round, and has done so six times in his career.

Tsitsipas, 22, looked like the freshest player to start with, and Djokovic had just scored an epic semi-final victory over Rafael Nadal. But the 34-year-old Serbian has regained his form and has held all service matches in the last three sets.

Djokovic improved to 35-10 in five sets. He won the first two majors of the year, and at Wimbledon he will have a chance to equal the men’s record of 20 Grand Slam titles shared by Nadal and Roger Federer.

Djokovic joined Rod Laver and Roy Emerson as the only men to win each of the four majors at least twice.

It’s a story of rupture. It will be updated.
