A divorced couple face charges of attempted murder of a man who previously had a romantic relationship with one of the suspects in the case.
Fox Lake suburban police said Kylie Fecht, 29, and her ex-husband Ryan Fecht were both arrested in connection with the assault and attempted murder of a 32-year-old man on Friday.
Police said the victim in the case, who recently had a romantic relationship with Kylie Fecht, arrived at a residence in Lincoln’s 500 block to collect personal effects around 5:55 p.m. Friday.
Meanwhile, a fight broke out between the victim and Ryan Fecht, authorities said. Kylie Fecht then allegedly participated in the altercation, then used a knife to stab the victim twice.
The victim fled and went to a suburban hospital to treat his injuries. The injuries are serious, but are not considered life threatening, police said.
Early Saturday, arrest warrants were issued against the Fechts, along with a search warrant for the residence. The two suspects were arrested and the search warrant was executed at the residence without incident, police said.
The two suspects appeared in court on Saturday. Kylie Fecht, who faces a charge of attempted first degree murder, has had her bail set at $ 750,000. Ryan Fecht was arrested and charged with assault and battery in the case, authorities said. His bond was set at $ 250,000.
An investigation is still ongoing in this matter.
