John O. Brennan, the former CIA director whose security clearance was revoked by President Donald Trump, has joined WestExec Advisors, a “secret consulting firm” whose alumni hold government administration positions. President Joe Biden.
The company, dubbed “Biden’s waiting cabinet” by Politics after the 2020 presidential election, employed Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, and many others. Politics noted, “WestExec is tasked with other former top Democratic national security and foreign policy officials who raised funds for the Biden campaign, joined his transition team, or served as unofficial advisers.”
In a Monday press release, WestExec announced, “John O. Brennan has joined the company’s distinguished and growing team as a Director. As a Principal at WestExec, he will advise on geopolitical strategy and risk, and help clients capitalize on key business opportunities and address the world’s most pressing challenges. He is described as an “outstanding civil servant”.
Brennan, who voted for a communist presidential candidate in 1976, is one of the originators of the “collusion with Russia” hoax, launching an investigation into the Trump campaign in July 2016. CIA documents released by Trump administration in 2020 suggest that Brennan then briefed President Barack Obama on an apparent plot by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to link Trump to the Russian hack. (The plot was reportedly suggested by Jake Sullivan, now Biden’s national security adviser.)
Throughout the Trump presidency, Brennan has expressed outrage at the new administration, call Trump’s press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki in 2018 “nothing short of a betrayal” after Trump publicly doubted the US intelligence committee’s finding that Russia interfered in the election of 2016. He also demanded that Trump be impeached. Trump revoked his security clearance – citing, among other things, past CIA spying on Democratic staffers.
In October 2020, Brennan joined a group of 50 former intelligence officials who wrote an open letter stating that the Hunter Biden laptop was likely Russian disinformation, although they admitted they had no proof. to prove that it was.
The laptop, which linked then-candidate Biden to his son’s overseas business dealings, has since been recognized as real by the New York Timesthe Washington To post, and CNN. Brennan never apologized for misleading the American electorate.
