Discord is recovering from a brief outage

Discord has recovered from a brief outage, after many users experienced connectivity issues. “We’re looking into issues with people messaging, logging in, streaming videos, etc,” reads a Discord status message, before the service was back online 30 minutes later.

The issues appear to briefly affect a large portion of Discord’s 150 million monthly active users, but The edge is aware of several Discord users who were still able to participate in calling and messaging on the service during the 30-minute outage.

This is Discord’s second outage in a matter of weeks. Discord has recovered from a two-hour outage on January 26 that left millions of users unable to access the service. This previous outage also affected the API and sessions, with most users unable to login, join calls or send messages on the communication app.

Discord also experienced a brief outage in November, after Google Cloud issues caused the app to struggle. Last year’s Google Cloud outage also took down Spotify, Snapchat, and Etsy.

Update, Feb. 15 3 p.m. ET: Discord is back online after a brief outage.
