The Vice President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte Zegarrareferred this Sunday to the accusations of the lobbyist Karelim López, who would have told the prosecution that the president leads a criminal organization to obtain money with public works tenders, and asked that it not be used as an “instrument of the coup.”
The also Minister of Development and Social Inclusion used her Twitter account and considered that the new complaints should be investigated “respecting the rule of law.”
“The Peruvian people voted for change and for the fight against corruption. In the government we have the obligation to fulfill that citizen mandate. All complaints must be investigated respecting the rule of law and not be an instrument of a coup d’état”, he expressed.
“At this time, the maximum serenity and responsibility of the political forces are required to give governance to the country. #AlwaysWithCleanHands”.
DINA BOLUARTE COULD BE PRESIDENT
It should be noted that Dina Boluarte would assume the presidency of the Republic if the Congress of the Republic vacated Pedro Castillo or if he decided to resign from his position. Boluarte is the only vice president since Peru Libre was only able to participate in the last elections with a presidential formula without a second vice president (Vladimir Cerrón) since he was disqualified by the National Elections Jury for serving a prison sentence for corruption, since 2019.

The money collected would have been used to pay the debts that the president had contracted in the electoral campaign. In response to the accusations, this Sunday morning, the President of the Republic of Peru, Pedro Castillogave a message to the Nation where he responded to the accusations that Karelim López would have made to the National Prosecutor’s Office.
“Peruvian people, faced with the dissemination in the media of the alleged statements of an aspiring effective collaborator attributing illicit acts to me, I categorically reject it. I am addressing the Peruvian people as president and as a citizen to demand that the Prosecutor’s Office continue with the investigations already initiated and, in the shortest possible time, provide objective explanations consistent with justice. The people need to know the truth,” Castillo said in his message.
