Did Kamala Harris Compare September 11th to January 6th?

Joe Biden’s administration faced fresh criticism this week over the president’s decision not to travel to Ground Zero for the 9/11 commemoration.

President Joe Biden was in Alaska on Monday rather than New York or any other memorial site as the United States remembered the thousands of lives lost in 2001.

Biden wasn’t the only member of the White House facing scrutiny, either, as a conservative commentator told his YouTube viewers that Vice President Kamala Harris had tried to digest the events from September 11 to those of the January 6 riots at the US Capitol.

Johnson, who was interviewing Rudy Giuliani, New York’s mayor on 9/11 and Donald Trump’s former lawyer, said: “Actually, Kamala Harris, a few moments ago, was saying that January 6th is like September 11th. “It’s a day that will go down in infamy,” she said.

Harris has already made a comparison between the two events.

She made the comment on January 6, 2022, as part of a speech on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Capitol riots.

Harris began her speech by mentioning the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, then the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the Capitol riots of January 6, 2021, saying that each of them was marked in the collective memory of the States -United as days. “when our democracy was attacked.”

“Certain dates resonate throughout history including dates which instantly let’s remind everyone who experienced them,” Harris said.

“Where they were and what they did when our democracy was attacked. Deats who occupies not just a place on our calendars but a place in our collective memory.

“DDecember 7, 1941. SSeptember 11, 2001 and January 6, 2021.”

Johnson had spoken to Giuliani about Harris’ appearance at Ground Zero in New York on Monday, an event Giuliani also attended. Harris was photographed at the ceremony alongside New York Mayor Eric Adams and New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

However, Harris’ comments were arguably not “a few moments ago,” as Johnson said.
