Diana Award-winning Suburban Teen accepted to 18 colleges – NBC Chicago

Last summer, NBC 5 told you for the first time about Oak Brook’s 17-year-old Jui Khankari, who received the coveted Diana Award for her work building an artificial intelligence platform for youth.

We caught up with the teenager, a senior from Hinsdale Central High School, as she tours the 18 universities she was recently accepted to.

Colleges include Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Columbia, Stanford, Northwestern, University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, and University of California…just to name a few.

“I have favorite parts of each of the schools, and I would really love to be able to spend a year at each of them,” Khankari said. “I guess I’m still in shock and disbelief.”

But if you look at his resume, you wouldn’t.

Khankari is in the top 2% of his class. She also earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT Entrance Exam.

She is still working on her non-profit project, AInspire, which has now gone international, creating a downloadable program to teach others about AI.

Khankari was also one of 150 Coca Cola scholars to receive a $20,000 scholarship.

“I would really like to use AI to solve a current health problem plaguing society,” Khankari said. “Just try to do your best in whatever you try to do.”

Be sure to watch the video above to see Khankari’s full story.
