Details of plan to ‘bury’ top star and end his push, with former world champion branded ‘immature’ for controversial comments

Welcome to another edition of the Daily WWE Rumor Roundup, where we aim to bring the biggest rumors and updates from the world of sports entertainment. In today’s edition we’ll look at exciting stories around big names like Drew McIntyre, GUNTHER and Braun Strowman.

Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has been heavily booked since Triple H took over as creative lead. However, the original plan was for him to be “buried” on SmackDown and send him packing to NXT. Other than that, we’ll also be looking at the major accolades Drew McIntyre garnered behind the scenes.

#3. Drew McIntyre is praised for his work in WWE

PWInsider reported that the former WWE Champion was praised for his commitment to the company. McIntyre has a busy schedule, despite his flu.

It was reported that McIntyre wasn’t feeling well ahead of his match against Karrion Kross at Crown Jewel but refused to back down.

“There were quite a few people praising Drew McIntyre for his commitment to the business as he moved from the United States to Germany and Switzerland for shows on Smackdown and then Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, then to India to film what was described as a “movie role” the company set up with Sony, then returned to the US to work on the Smackdown taping, then a pair of events in live, so he was on the road for several weeks in a row for WWE-related appearances.”

The Scottish Warrior has become one of WWE’s most trusted superstars today. Not only does he continue to produce quality matches inside the ring, but his attitude towards his job also shows how hardworking and dedicated he is.

#2. Braun Strowman Backstage Heat

The Monster of all Monsters seems to have gone under management’s radar after his comments against some wrestlers on Twitter. Fightful Select said the heat on him was legit. While he did well behind the scenes, his social media comments didn’t sit well with some.

A person Fightful spoke to called Strowman’s actions immature. The former Universal Champion took to Twitter to attack high-flying superstars, calling them ‘flippy-floppers’, saying ‘giants and freaks’ like him are better than smaller superstars. He has since deleted that Tweet, which was likely done in jest.

#1. GUNTHER was to be ‘buried’ and returned to NXT

WrestleVotes has revealed that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is not a fan of GUNTHER. He had soured on the former NXT UK Champion and wanted to “bury” him before sending him back to NXT.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, they also revealed that GUNTHER is now “safe” as Triple H likes him and is a huge fan.

The report said McMahon “legitimately wanted to bury him.” It’s surprising that McMahon didn’t like GUNTHER because the superstar did a great workout to cut his weight as per Vince McMahon’s order. Several superstars have really benefited from Triple H’s takeover, and it looks like the IC champion is one of them.

Why has John Cena never turned on his heels? He told someone from the Sportskeeda Wrestling team here.
