Destiny 2’s New Villain Is Roasting Players On Social Media

In the perspective of Destiny 2it is The Witch Queen expansion, players had the chance to interact with Savathûn, the game’s newest villain. In a PR stunt cleverly disguised as Savathûn hijacking the Destiny 2 Twitter account, the titular witch queen launched fiery tweets, excoriating anyone stupid enough to wander into her mentions.

Savathûn began his social media takeover with the tweet: “I am relieved, hollow, filled with nothing but potential. In weightlessness. Pure,” which, honestly, is a mood. When the official Xbox account responded somewhat sarcastically, Savathûn unleashed all four barrels of The Fourth Horseman, launching his short but glittering career on Twitter.

Savathûn was no respect of person, neither player nor journalist was spared his toxic tweets as evidenced by this brutal clean of Forbes journalist Paul Tassi.

If a Cthullian eldritch horror told me to touch the grass, I would first touch the grass, and second, I would exhale in place.

Destiny 2 players used the hotline with the Witch Queen to ask questions about the lore, and some of Savathûn’s nastiest tweets were her replies.

When she wasn’t reading everything D2 Twitter community for dirt, Savathûn’s posts were almost philosophical, giving some insight into the creature Guardians will be fighting once the expansion launches next week. The stunt ended with a tweet from the Destiny 2 the social team basically saying, “Uh, I think we got hacked?”

Although he is the villain of The Witch Queen expansion, Savathûn has fans who wouldn’t let the roast-a-thon end there. A Destiny 2 The clan went the extra mile to pay for a cameo from Debra Wilson, Savathûn’s legendary voice actress, to give an in-character shoutout.

I am not a Destiny 2 player. While I enthusiastically consume its lore and enjoy some of the characters (Hey Zaddy-vala!), I find the game itself so inscrutable that I’ve repeatedly bounced over it. However, I am all in to The Witch Queen for one reason only: Savathûn. You have to understand, I’m a woman of simple tastes, I see a big monstrous lady who wants to end all life which is also voiced by Debra THEE Wilson, I simp.
