In news that should come as no shock, Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson was heckled vehemently and profanely by Jaguars fans during his preseason debut Friday in Jacksonville.
Here’s a sample of the reception Watson received:

They also cheered when Watson’s receivers dropped passes. In all honesty, Jags fans would probably have applauded any opponent’s dropped passes from receivers. However, they seemed to have put a bit more on this one.

Jags fans also varied things up by working into a “No, that’s no” chant.

Watson issued an apology, of sorts, on Friday. The Browns QB, charged with more than two dozen sexual misconduct cases, said in a pregame interview that he was “sorry to all the women” he “affected” in this situation.
“Listen, I want to say I’m so sorry for all the women I’ve touched in this situation,” Watson said in the interview. “The decisions I made in my life that put me in this position, I would really like to have them back, but I want to keep moving forward, growing, learning and showing that I am a real person of character. and I will keep moving forward.
Of course, the “apology” gives no details of what he actually did and only came while awaiting a decision on an NFL appeal of his suspension that could significantly lengthen the number of games he misses. .
Watson also offered an 8-game suspension to counter the 6-game suspension handed to him by former federal judge Sue L. Robinson last week.
Either way, Watson can expect a similar reception every time he steps on the court this season, unless he’s playing in Cleveland, of course.
