Derby stuns Fulham to keep dream of Championship survival miracle alive as Whites are forced to wait for Premier League promotion

Derby came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 and keep their slim chances of surviving the Championship alive on Friday night at Pride Park.

Los Blancos came into the game needing a win to secure their seemingly inevitable promotion to the Premier League, but they failed remarkably in the clash between top and bottom of the league.

Fabio Carvalho opened the scoring for Fulham in the 20th minute and the runaway league leaders looked set for an Easter promotion party.

However, Luke Plange equalized early in the second half and a Tosin Adarabioyo own goal turned the game upside down with 17 minutes remaining.

Wayne Rooney’s men saw off the upset victory, which leaves them nine points behind safety with four games remaining of the season.

It would take a monumental effort for Derby, who have been deducted 21 points by the EFL this season, to pull off a survival miracle, but this win keeps them with a slim chance of staying up.
