Denim Business operating at full capacity; Volumes above pre-Covid levels: Arvind

Arvind’s jeans business is operating at full capacity, Executive Director Punit Lalbhai told CNBC-TV18.

The textile maker reported good profits for the quarter ended in September, which saw its margins increase and fabric volumes surpass pre-COVID-19 levels.

“Our jeans and essentials stores are operating at full capacity. It is the shirt and knitwear businesses that started before COVID-19 that are at lower usage levels. But our forward bookings in both of these cases are significantly higher than in the past, ”Lalbhai said.

Regarding margins, he said: “The whole inflationary environment has been difficult over the past six months. Despite this, we were able to achieve these margins, which is encouraging and we want to continue this trend. “

According to him, current volumes are higher than pre-COVID-19 levels. “We are currently achieving volumes slightly above pre-COVID levels. The real point to focus on is that we are reaching record levels of capacity utilization and a very strong demand forecast, ”Lalbhai said.
